The Rey Feo Consejo Educational Foundation is a non-profit organization founded in 1982 with the mission to help the next generation of Texas students. The foundation sponsors various fundraising events throughout the year and is dedicated to awarding scholarship programs to deserving high school seniors and students enrolled in a four-year degree plan. Jon Gary Herrera is both honored and eager to further this mission by running for the next Rey Feo. He hopes that his participation in the campaign will serve the community and its youth in a constructive manner, while bringing San Antonio to the forefront of innovative educational services.

The Purpose

To help the next generation of Texas students

The Rey Feo Consejo Educational Foundation helps Texas students obtain a higher education by granting scholarships to deserving individuals. Since 1947, more than $4 million has been raised and awarded to over 3,000 students involved in our program. Understanding that passion is the key to success, our foundation is devoted to helping students grow in their educational endeavors and community involvement. We hope to inspire many and help all through this movement.

The Rey Feo is a year-round LULAC Rey Feo Scholarship Inc. ambassador and Fiesta royalty who achieves the reign by raising at least $200,000. These funds are distributed through scholarship awards by LULAC Rey Feo Scholarship Inc. Last year, 129 San Antonio area students each received a $1,500 renewable award. The Consejo membership helps support the Rey Feo reign.

For more information on the scholarship eligibility requirements and process visit the Rey Feo Scholarship Inc. website.
